Springing off the success of the brilliant movie, The Conjuring, came Annabelle (2014). The doll who was a conduit for a demon and had terrorized various people, it eventually ended up in a glass case box in the Warrens supernatural room of oddities. Every scene where Annabelle featured in The Conjuring was both eerie and extremely scary and this led filmmakers to pursue a solo movie.
While I'm sure many may have liked it, I really felt they didn't take the movie in a scary enough direction considering it came from James Wan's introduction in The Conjuring and with the foundation of chill he already gave the doll, all the writers had to do was capture that and run with it but I found it a bit lackluster to say the least.
Now it seems, Annabelle is back with various sources reporting that Gary Dauberman is returning to write a script for the sequel for New Line. The original Annabelle was made on a budget of around $6,5 million and made a whopping $250 million worldwide so obviously anyone can do the math and figure out that the return on investment is very very lucrative!
