STORY: A doctor, his wife and Mary, his 17 year old daughter, go to their vacation home at a lake. Once there, Mary decides to visit her friend Paige whom she hasn't seen in a long time. Paige catches up with her old friend. Unknown to them they are overheard while discussing recreational drugs, by a young boy. The boy offers to help them out in exchange for a pack of cigarettes. Agreed and the girls travel together to the boy's motel room. They all start smoking and relaxing until the boy's "family" arrive. His father, uncle and their lady friend, Sadie. They are unpleased because of their unexpected visitors and also due to the fact that they notoriously made the headlines in the little town.

Assuming that the girls would give them away they kidnap them and drive to the lake. The SUV they're travelling in crashes. Paige is killed and Mary is raped by the boy's father. She manages to escape by is subsequently shot in the back while swimming away in the lake.

With no transport the four people make their way to a house, which coincidentally belongs to the doctor and wife. The doctor assists the boy's uncle with his broken nose and offers them a place to stay in their guesthouse, when the lights go out and phone goes dead due to a storm.

The doctor hears tapping sounds coming from the patio and finds his daughter lying with a gunshot wound. He and his wife quickly seal the wound and nurse his daughter back to health.

It is then that the doctor realises his daughter had been raped and that the people in the guesthouse are the culprits for hurting her. He and his wife hen take revenge on the people who hurt Mary.

REVIEW
First thing that comes to mind due to the story are Kevin Bacon's "Death Sentence" and the newly released Law Abiding Citizen with Gerard Butler. It's a tale of good old revenge and a deep undercurrent of morality, raising the question of how far you would go to protect yourself and your loved ones. Amazingly, this is a remake of an original Wes Carven ( Nightmare on Elm Street, The Scream Series )movie. What I found extremely interesting is the fact that Craven produces also, meaning his blessing has been given.

Nothing like revenge especially in a world where alot of the time people literally seem to get away with murder. It seems very possible that once a person's spirit is broken they will do whatever it takes to fix the problem.

SCORE
A resounding 7 popcorn out of 10

MOVIE TRAILER

MOVIE BABE
The gorgeous Sara Paxton live in the house on the left!
