The world has just reeled over the news that Ben Affleck will be appearing as Bruce Wayne / Batman in the Zack Snyder sequel to Man of Steel (2013) and now comes some more mind-blowing news. Breaking Bad star, Bryan Cranston will be taking up the mantle as Superman nemesis, Lex Luthor!
Both E! Online and Cosmic Book News are reporting on this. Cranston, having played the role of the evil meth genius and family man, Walter White, will be playing the arch villain as he has proven through the TV show that he can bring duality to such a role. No one can argue that Cranston won't bring his entire acting arsenal to such an iconic and epic role.
Cranston and Affleck have also worked together on Affleck's Academy Award winning movie, Argo, so their working relationship has already bonded on screen and hopefully they can bring that magic to the new Superman / Batman movie. Whether or not this news is valid, only time will tell but no one will complain about this casting would they?
