I was excited when I first heard they were making an A - Team movie last year and couldn't wait for it, especially since it was based on the iconic hit TV series of the 80's. Then, one day, totally by chance, I saw a making of program covering a new upcoming movie called The Losers. The Losers is based on a graphic novel which, admittedly, I had not heard of before.

After seeing both, there are similarities but I'll let you decide.....

STORY - The A Team:

Four American soldiers belonging to an elite group called The Alpha Team or A - Team for short, who are in Iraq are sent on a mission to recover plates for printing 100 dollar bills that were used to print a billion dollars. After doing the job and returning to the base their commanding officer is killed in an explosion and the plates are stolen by another operative. They are then court martialled, stripped of their ranks and each is sent to a different prison across the world. 6 months later, the leader, Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates with the hope of clearing their names and being re-instated into the US army once more. But while completing the mission, they discover that the CIA might not be as legit as they originally thought.

STORY - The Losers:

A tale of double cross and revenge, centered upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar -find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.
