Being the comic book fan that I am, especially Marvel Comics, I just gotta have my say on this character and new movie.
The Thor film for all intensive purposes is, in my opinion, in the best hands it could be with Marvel Studios. The sad truth of Marvel having sold off their properties to various other studios is that they only now have a handful of characters ( that is, those with mass appeal ) left. We all saw the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie released by Fox studios last hear that left a somewhat unsatisfied taste in our mouths, another example, one which the public voiced their outcry over, was Spiderman 3! Do we remember the debacle which director Sam Raimi, a brilliant director, was left to stitch together even after his previous success with Spiderman and Spiderman 2. Too much outside inteference from people who do not directly appreciate the work of Marvel, their characters and so on have left excellent comic book creations in the hands of unappreciative money making studios who only care about the amount of dollars that can line their own pockets.

My point here is that Thor already has good standing for the mere fact that it's still in Marvel's hands and if Marvel Studios record is anything to go by with previous movies, The Incredible Hulk ( 2008 ), Iron Man ( 2008 ) and Iron Man 2 ( 2010 ), then we can all be rest assured that this movie has all the potential to literally be all that it can be.
