Movie fans have been well aware of this for a long time already, when one studio releases a movie another will also release a movie with a similar plot to the first shortly thereafter. Examples are endless, look at Snow White and the Huntsman and also Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts or The Losers and The A-Team from . No suprise then that a movie where the White House is blown to bits and the president is in danger appears in two separate movies within the same year and released shortly after each other.
My take is that as a fan we could go see both movies and just enjoy them for the entertainment each provides to the audience in their respective way but with reboots basically recycling old movie material, is this not the same as that in so many ways?
