REVIEW
I was really impressed with this movie, from start to end. The very premise of all crime including murder, being made legal, annually, for 12 hours between 7pm and 7am the following day, is scary enough to peak anyone's curiosity.

The movie is tense and moves at a heart pounding pace as the reality of living in such a world sinks into the core of the viewer. It touches on philosophical topics such as morality, family and perception, not to mention crime and jealousy. All the topics which separate us and society from animals or deviants are laid bare here.

Any family member will feel the intense fear as the movie, which starts off on a high note, slowly darkens and descends into it's very extremely morbid blackness. The movie literally sucks you into it, throwing feelings of anxiety and stress right at you. As you get pulled in, you begin to wonder your own choices given you were put into such a world and plunged into the situations as seen in the Purge.

The leads, played by Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey, seem very convincing in their circumstances, with the idea that protecting one's family is the number one priority in this world. I reckon everyone should give this movie a look, but, be prepared for an interesting psychological striking all your fears and desires as you go!
