Beware the Batman is a 2013 computer animated series that seems to have moulded itself between the Christian Bale and Michael Keaton versions of the Batman legend. The storyline is continuous with each episode delving deeper into the psyche of Bruce Wayne and Batman while introducing us to a new villain.
Interestingly they've thrown a twist into the works by remoulding Alfred into an almost Jason Statham clone who was formerly a secret agent having worked for MI-6 British intelligence. This for me adds a nice touch as we're all used to Alfred usually depicted as an elderly gentleman. Alfred also enlists Tatsu Tamashiro to assist him in protecting Bruce Wayne.
The computer animation pushes Batman straightforward into the 21st century, as it did with various other characters like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and even The Road Runner. I really like the look and feel of this new version of Batman lore and I hope it lasts long enough to see the storyline unfold over multiple seasons.
