Any person calling themselves a true DC Comics fans knows of Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Sandman belonged to DC's Vertigo line and depicted a much darker side to their usual hero fanfare. So any fans out there here comes the best news you'll ever hear, THE SANDMAN MOVIE IS COMING!
Who would make such a movie you may ask, well Hitflix is reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is willing to produce, direct and star in it with none other than David Goyer doing the penning of the script! This could be a match made in heaven with Gordon-Levitt already having proven himself as an actor and recently with Don Jon a worthy director as well.
We all have seen Marvel totally taking over cinema and television so it's nice to see DC raising it's head to remind us they're still here. Thing is whilst I do acknowledge that DC Comics have movies for a few of their characters they seem to take a backseat to Marvel's characters' adventures.
Since Christopher Nolan has revamped the Batman legend and now Superman with Man of Steel, we 're seeing a nice resurgence of DC Comics and usually these movies make a killing at the box office so let's all hope that Sandman follows suit.
