ANT-MAN (2015) ... MICHAEL DOUGLAS IS HANK PYM / ANT-MAN ... And so is Paul Rudd?!!

Fresh off his Golden Globe win, it's immediately announced that veteran actor Michael Douglas will be Ant-Man / Hank Pym. You will remember that not so long ago it was announced that brilliant director Edgar Wright had named Paul Rudd as the hero so with the announcement that Douglas would portray Hank Pym, it stands to reason that Paul Rudd would be the Scott Lang version.   According to a recent article in Variety, this is what Marvel Studio's Kevin Feige had to say on the topic:   "With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.”   I'm excited to see such well-known actors such as Douglas being brought into the Marvel Universe, it just seems as though superhero / comic book movies are being given the respect and acting talent they so rightly deserve and ultimately the credibility as a genre being taken seriously by Hollywood. Just recently we saw Robert Redford add his skills to Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014).   Well done to everyone involved and I'm sure you're as excited as I am with this great news. Can't wait to see this movie already.
