  The late Tom Clancy's gift to gamers in the form of Splinter Cell is about to get re-imagined in the world of cinema. Ubisoft together with New Regency and actor Tom Hardy are ready to move on the project. Hardy you will remember played the uber-villain Bane in Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy.     Producers and Lead actor are now sorted but what about a director? News has it that they have approached and are in negotiations with Doug Liman. Liman is quite possibly the best candidate to tell an action based tale, or in my opinion at least. He has movies such as the totally underrated Jumper, The Bourne Identity and Mr & Mrs Smith to his credit.   Eric Warren Singer (“American Hustle”) wrote the script, which will follow Sam Fisher (Hardy), a government spy whose unit Third Echelon battles terrorists.
