BREAKING NEWS!!! Marvel's Ant-Man Loses It's Director, Edgar Wright!! Now What?!

Friday, May 23, 2014

This breaking news is rather sad in my eyes! Apparently it seems that Edgar Wright has now left Marvel's Ant-Man movie as director. Edgar Wright was the perfect fit for this movie in so many ways and a collaboration between he, Marvel and actors Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas would've been a beautiful symphony of cinema and comic book hero. Now why would I be so kind to Wright, well he directed some of the better comedies of the past decade including Nick Frost and Simon Pegg in the Cornetto Trilogy consisting of the very memorable Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead and The World's End!

Enough of my take, here's what insidemovies had to say:

Marvel Studios and Wright issued a joint statement Friday announcing the news: “Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on Ant-Man due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”

So my only question is, what are you going to do now Marvel? Are we going to have another Bryan Singer / Brett Ratner moment like we had with X-Men: The Last Stand or are you going to totally blow us away like you did with the first Iron Man?
