It has now been a month since the outspoken former 5FM DJ, Gareth Cliff started his own network with a cross pollination of radio  / TV show in the form of Cliffcentral.com.   Many fans were stunned with the announcement of Cliff leaving 5FM and were curious to know what the future held for our favourite DJ and his team. Not long after we saw ads announcing the quick return of Cliff and crew, not to mention an interview on 3 Talk with Noleen.   Many of their fans soon migrated to the new Cliffcentral with great curiosity and fans everywhere began streaming his radio show and watching him on Comedy Central. Mabale was happily minding her own business doing her Honours degree in Medical Microbiology when she called into Gareth Cliff’s show which would change her fate forever. She joined Gareth and soon came to accept just how well she fits in with her new dysfunctional family. Changing her career path was never something her father fully accepted, but luckily Mabale has proven to be an intelligent, resourceful young woman who has expanded her broadcasting experience to television as a news anchor on eNCA and TV presenter for Tech Report. She’s interviewed the likes of Will Smith, which her father was less impressed by than her interview with Moeletsi Mbeki (brother of Thabo Mbeki) “my dad is more of a Clint Eastwood fan” Mabale explains. No doubt Dad will be relieved if she marries Mr. X, whom no-one has met!

Animal Whisperer

A bag of contradictions. That’s how CliffCentral.com presenter and Mala Media partner, Leigh-Ann Mol, describes herself. Smart and witty but sometimes intellectually naive. Rational and reasonable but a hopeless romantic. A serious, critical thinker with a wicked sense of humour. These qualities have made Leigh-Ann an endearing radio personality, and have helped her maintain her sanity in the Gareth Cliff team. In April 2014, Leigh- Ann left her on-air position at 5FM, along with most of the morning team, to pioneer a project unlike any other in South Africa – the CliffCentral.com hub. The ultimate dream of the unpretentious and humble Leigh-Ann Mol: “To share my thoughts without reservation.” She dreams of an uncensored broadcast show. “In the long term, I dream of a beautiful life on a farm in the countryside, complete with lavender. And goats.”

 

Damon Kalvari

With the advent of CliffCentral.com comes a long-awaited promotion for Damon Kalvari, but he will stay hidden in a room at the back, with a faulty microphone and taking phonecalls. “Following Gareth and the team was the easiest decision of my life” says Damon, ”like deciding to marry my beautiful wife Bernice. This was all meant to be. Besides, nobody else would have me”. While Damon has decades of radio experience and hundreds of jogging and cycling kilometres behind him, he is best known for his preoccupation with eating and his main concern is the catering arrangements at CliffCentral. He works in isolation from the rest of the team because he farts.
