Nicholas Cage is back! Some would argue he never went away but for me, I've always rooted for this Academy Award winning actor. He had some brilliant performances in the past with movies like The Weather Man, Leaving Las Vegas and his memorable action movies such as Con Air, The Rock, National Treasure and Next.

Now we see Cage as a pilot facing the end of the world in an biblical apocalyptic action drama. Biblical themed movies seem to be making their rounds this year having had releases such as Son of God and Noah on the big screens with the latter becoming a global sensation. Anyway, the movie is based on a New York bestseller of the same name by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, dealing with Christian dispensationalist End Times: pretribulation, premillennial, Christian eschatological viewpoint of the end of the world.

The movie co stars Lea Thompson, Nicky Whelan, Cassie Thomson and Chad Michael Murray. It is directed by Vic Armstrong and has a release date set around mid-October 2014
