REVIEW ... THERE BE SPOILERS HERE!
An Elizabeth Banks movie is almost always an enjoyable and contrary to what critics can spit out about her movies, I generally find them enjoyable. Watching her portray the most interesting of characters is always a joy to watch whether it be in The Hunger Games, 40 Year Old Virgin or a small role on TV shows like Scrubs.

So after watching this movie, I immediately Googled the movie and found out that with a presumed budget of $15 million the movie performed extremely poorly at the American Box Office bringing in only $59,000 in total. Sadly the movie's release date was pushed around a few times and apparently American movie critics panned and dismissed this movie in the worst of reviews which many say may have caused the poor performance.

Forget everything I've just said and focus on what I'm about to say. Elizabeth Banks plays her role perfectly or as perfect as any actress in the role could. The movie centers around Meghan, a reporter who after losing the job on her dreams goes out to party with her friends and has a one night stand with a stranger. After waking up in the night, she checks her voicemail only to discover that she has by default gotten her dream job and through a series of mishaps and misadventures throughout the night and following morning, finally makes it to her news station where she needs to impress her new employers.

The funniest moments for me were within the first 5 minutes where we're shown footage of reporters in action and experiencing unexpected events. There are some truly hilarious segment which appear to be on live TV. The story basically spans a 24 hour period and sees our heroine go through all kinds of memorable trials and tribulations and arrive triumphantly on the other side. If you're looking for a movie that provides entertainment and nothing deep, then this one is for you. I can't help but  wonder if Todd Phillips and the writers behind The Hangover had adapted this screenplay how much more hilarious it could've been? There's potential for much more laughs and action throughout the movie but the movie doesn't really go as deep as they could into these situations which I did find a bit of a let down.

The movie also claims to be a romantic comedy but a more apt description would be just a comedy. The romance bit is downplayed and isn't really explored as fully as it should be to be called a rom-com. The movie is however not as terrible as media would like you to believe and it is enjoyable if only for light entertainment.

PLOT
A reporter's dream of becoming a news anchor is compromised after a one-night stand leaves her stranded in downtown L.A. without a phone, car, ID or money - and only 8 hours to make it to the most important job interview of her life.
