Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.... okay I'm kinda speechless here ... the Walking Dead meet Jane Austen? So its' not April Fool's day and this really isnt our version of a sad joke, in fact the movie is really based on a parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is a mashup combining Jane Austen's classic 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice with elements of modern zombie fiction, crediting Austen as co-author. It was first published in April 2009 by Quirk Books and in October 2009 a Deluxe Edition was released, containing full-color images and additional zombie scenes... so there you have it! Interested yet? Well we certainly are!
The film, which has been rated PG-13 for zombie violence and action, and brief suggestive material, opens on February 5th with Burr Steers directing. The movie stars Lena Headey, Jack Huston, Charles Dance, Matt Smith and Lily James.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES PLOT A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.
