The story is taken from one of Clive Barker's short stories taken from the Book of Blood. A college professor believes she's found a house with ties to the occult which is an intersection between the dead and the livng. She takes an associate and one of her students who apparently has a supernatural gift. Whilst at the house, strange things start happening! Bizzare writing appears on the wall where the student sleeps for no apparent reason and a message "Don't Mock Us".
e then discover that all the things that occur was a hoax perpetrated somehow by the student. The professor gives up and then in an attempt to prove himself, the young student goes back into the house to show that there are unexplained things happening at the house. Suddenly cuts forming words start showing themselves a;; over his body. The dead have stories to tell and they're using his body to write these stories.
REVIEW: After reviewing so many good movies, it saddens me to see this one attached to Clive Barker's name! I've read a few of Clive Barker's books and the man is a horror guru with even Stephen King paying his dues to him.....but this interpretation of his story is sadly not good enough and I found myself looking at the time and wondering how much longer I could watch. The story could have been done so much better and maybe in the hands of some A - list directors this could have been incredible. Alas it is what it is.
SCORE:
A disappointing 4 popcorn out of 10...

MOVIE BABE:
Not really, but here's Clive Barker in the flesh!
