STORY: Zombies....armegeddon, we've seen this thing before right? Wrong! Our story begins at the scene of a family murder / suicide. Police are already as a reporter and her cameraman are preparing. Emergency workers are bring out three dead bodies. As the reporter starts with mic in hand, her cameraman notices something happening in the background. One of the bodies rises and then another. Immediately the police start firing and it's only when shot in the head that they are stopped but not after biting through a few victims including the reporter. We're immediately taken to the filming of a horror movie by a couple of film students and their professor. After a scene goes wrong, they stop filming only to hear of something terrorising people. It is still unclear what's happening but everyone agrees to leave and travel away. This is then where our story follows these students as they uncover the horror of their circumstance and that people are coming to back to life after they die!
REVIEW: Now we've all seen Cloverfield, Blair Witch Project and now Paranormal activity so how could this offer us anything new in the genre of following people with hand held cams, cellphones and so forth, but the master George A. Romero has created a brilliant little work here that once again shows how the problem starts but we still have no idea where or what created the Zombie problem. The mystery still lies unanswered. If, like me, you've put off watching this movie for some or other reason, I strongly recommend that you quickly make a plan to see it! It's so hard to find worthwhile horror movies, with all the serial killer blood and gore, which seems to be the fashion these days, that I celebrate this movie and accept it with arms wide open.
