STORY:
A young man, Jerry, goes to an ATM and discovers that he has unexpectedly become $750,000 richer. He returns to his apartment to find it filled with military equipment and bags of ammonia nitrate.
Suddenly he get a call from a female voice who tells him that he has now been activated and that the FBI will be at his door within minutes. Still bewildered, the FBI arrest and interrogate him.
Meanwhile across town Rachel is having fun with her friends when she recieves a call informing her that she must do as the voice says or her son's life will be in danger. She must get into a Porsche Cheyanne around the corner and await further instruction.
Jerry recieves another call in the interrogation room and it tells him to duck in 4 seconds. Just then a crane breaks through the wall of the room and he's told to jump, which he does. Escaping, he is told to get into an SUV where he meets Rachel.Together, they must find whoever's comtrolling them, save the President and Cabinet of the United States and hopefully put an end to something which could ultimately destroy the entire United States.
The movie has lent aspects of other successful movies, namely, Enemy of the State and the Skynet conspiracy from the Terminator movies. Big Brother is watching!
I'n sure that many conspiracy theorists are watching this movie and wondering. Even as I was watching, I wondered the possibility of such things happening in real life situations. Perhaps we are all just pawns in a chess game played by our own government and if so, what could we really do about it?
The movie stars Shia LaBeouf ( Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen ), Michelle Monaghan ( Mission: Impossible III ), Billy Bob Thornton ( Armegeddon, Pushing Tin ) and Rosario Dawson ( Grindhouse, 7 Pounds ).
The action is fast paced but definitely not entirely original. This movie is worthy of attention though ( I can think of worse ways to spend 90 or so minutes.
