Hollywood make far too few good fantasy adventure movies so when one like The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones comes along we all should sit up and take note.
The movie encompasses a storyline consisting of legend, demons and alternate worlds which by itself deserves a look, throw in a few noted actors like Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Lena Headey and you have the makings of something truly special.
Director Harold Zwart, who formerly directed The Karate Kid (2010), The Pink Panther 2 (2009) and One Night at McCool's adds his talent into the mix thus solidifying the direction in which the movie will go.
The Mortal Instruments is based on a popular series of novels by author Cassandra Clare and fans may want to know that the sequel The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is currently already in pre-production phase. Does this mean we've found the next Twilight? Only time and box office receipts will tell.
PLOT
When her mother disappears, Clary Fray learns that she descends from a line of warriors who protect our world from demons. She joins forces with others like her and heads into a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld.
