Queen Gorgo of Sparta tells her men about the Battle of Marathon, in which King Darius I of Persia was killed by General Themistocles of Athens. Darius' son, Xerxes, witnesses his father's death, and is advised to not continue the war, since "only the gods could defeat the Greeks". Darius' naval commander, Artemisia, claims that Darius' last words were in fact a challenge and sends Xerxes on a journey through the desert. Xerxes finally reaches a cave and bathes in an otherworldly liquid, emerging as the "God-King". He returns to Persia and declares war on Greece.

As Xerxes' forces advance towards Thermopylae, Themistocles meets with the council and convinces them to provide him with a fleet to engage the Persians at sea. Themistocles then travels to Sparta to ask King Leonidas for help, but is informed by Dilios that Leonidas is consulting the Oracle, and Gorgo is reluctant to side with Athens. Themistocles later reunites with his old friend Scyllas, who infiltrated the Persian troops and learned Artemisia was born Greek, but defected to Persia as her family was raped and murdered by Greek hoplites and she was taken as a sex slave to the Greeks, who left her for dead in the streets. She was rescued and adopted by the Persians. Her lust for vengeance gained the attention of King Darius and he made her a naval commander after she killed many of his enemies.

Themistocles leads his men, which include Scyllas, Scyllas' son Calisto and Themistocles' right-hand man Aesyklos to the Aegean Sea. They ram their ships into the Persian ships, charge them, slaughtering several soldiers before retreating from the sinking Persian ships. The following day, the Greeks feign a retreat and lead a group of Persian ships into a crevice, where they become stuck. The Greeks charge the Persian ships from the cliffs above and kill more Persians. Impressed with Themistocles' skills, Artemisia brings him onto her ship where she attempts to use sex to seduce him to join the Persians as her second-in-command. He refuses, causing her to push him aside and swear revenge.

The Persians spill tar into the sea and send suicide bombers to swim to and board the Greek ships with their flame bombs. Artemisia and her men fire flaming arrows and torches to ignite the tar, but Themistocles manages to kill one of the soldiers, who falls into the tar carrying a torch, causing ships from both sides to explode. Themistocles is thrown into the sea by an explosion and nearly drowns before being rescued by Calisto, and stands by Scyllas' side as he succumbs to his injuries. Believing Themistocles to be dead, Artemisia and her forces withdraw.

Themistocles learns that Leonidas and the 300 have been killed by Xerxes and returns to Athens to confront Ephialtes, the deformed Spartan traitor, who reveals that Xerxes plans to attack Athens, and is regretful of his actions, welcoming death. Themistocles spares him instead, so he can warn Xerxes that the Greek forces are gathering at Salamis, and then visits Gorgo in Sparta while she is mourning Leonidas to ask for her help, but she is too overcome with grief. Before leaving, Themistocles returns Leonidas' sword, which he took from Ephialtes, that had earlier stolen it, and urges Gorgo to avenge Leonidas.

In Athens, Xerxes' army is laying waste when Ephialtes arrives to deliver Themistocles' message. Upon learning he is alive, Artemisia leaves to ready her troops for battle, against Xerxes' wishes. The Greek ships crash into the Persians ships, and the two armies battle, beginning the decisive Battle of Salamis. Themistocles and Artemisia fight, which ends in a stalemate with both receiving injuries.
Gorgo had been narrating the tale to her Spartan army, and leads them to assist in the battle alongside other allied Greeks, outnumbering the Persians. Themistocles urges Artemisia to surrender, but she tries to kill him and is stabbed through the stomach. With her dying breath, she sees Xerxes turning his back on her as he retreats. Themistocles and Gorgo take a moment to silently acknowledge one another's alliance as the rest of Artemisia's army charges. The two then charge at the opposing Persians with the rest of the Spartans behind

TOP MOVIE - THE LEGO MOVIE

The wizard Vitruvius attempts to protect a superweapon called the "Kragle" from the evil Lord Business. He fails to do so and is blinded, but prophesies that a person called "the Special" will find the Piece of Resistance capable of stopping the Kragle. Eight and a half years later, an ordinary construction worker named Emmet Brickowski comes across a woman named Wyldstyle, who searches for something after hours at Emmet's construction site. When he investigates, Emmet falls into a hole and finds the Piece of Resistance. Compelled to touch it, Emmet experiences vivid visions and passes out. He awakens with the Piece of Resistance attached to his back in the custody of Bad Cop, Business' lieutenant with a split "Good Cop" personality. There, Emmet learns of Business' plans to freeze the world with the Kragle, revealed to be a tube of Krazy Glue with the label partially rubbed out. Wyldstyle rescues Emmet and takes him to meet Vitruvius, explaining that she and the wizard are Master Builders capable of building anything they need without instruction manuals. She further explains Business' disapproval of such anarchic creativity, for which most of them are incarcerated. Though disappointed to find Emmet displays no creativity, Wyldstyle and Vitruvius are convinced of his potential when he recalls visions of a humanoid deity called "the Man Upstairs".

Bad Cop tracks down Emmet, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius. They are rescued by Wyldstyle's boyfriend Batman and taken to a council of the remaining Master Builders, who are unimpressed with Emmet and refuse to fight Business. Bad Cop and his forces attack and capture all the Master Builders except for Emmet and a few others. Emmet believes the Master Builders' weakness is that their individual creativity prevents them from working together. He devises a team plan to infiltrate Business' headquarters, but he and his allies are captured and imprisoned, while Vitruvius is decapitated by Lord Business. With his dying words, Vitruvius reveals he made up the prophecy. Business throws the Piece of Resistance off the edge of the universe, sets his headquarters to self-destruct, and leaves the Master Builders and Bad Cop to die. Vitruvius' ghost appears before Emmet and explains it was not the prophecy, but his self-belief that made him the Special. Tied to the self-destruct mechanism's battery, Emmet flings himself off the edge of the universe to save his friends, who escape further danger with the aid of Bad Cop. Inspired by Emmet's sacrifice, Wyldstyle rallies the Lego people across the universe to use whatever creativity they have to build machines and weapons to fight Business' forces, with the Master Builders leading the charge.

Emmet finds himself in the real world, where the events of the story are being played out within the imagination of a young boy, Finn, on his father's Lego set. The father—revealed as "the Man Upstairs" and Finn's inspiration for Business—chastises his son for ruining the set by creating hodgepodges of different characters and playsets. Finn tells his dad that Lego is for children, but his father proceeds to permanently glue the models to their original form. Realizing the danger his friends are in, Emmet wills himself to move and gains Finn's attention. Finn returns Emmet and the Piece of Resistance (which was actually the cap for the tube of Krazy Glue) to the Lego set, where Emmet builds a massive robot mech to assist his friends before confronting Business. In the real world, Finn's father looks at his son's creations again and is impressed. Realizing Finn based his story's villain on him, the father has a change of heart and allows his son to play with his Lego however he sees fit. In the Lego world, Emmet tells Business that he, too, is special, as is everyone. Moved by Emmet's speech, Business caps the Kragle with the Piece of Resistance and unfreezes his victims with a watering can. With the world saved, Emmet celebrates with his friends, and Wyldstyle becomes his girlfriend. As a result of the father allowing Finn's younger sister to play with his Lego set, alien Duplo beings beam down to invade.

TOP MOVIE - NEED FOR SPEED

Tobey Marshall is a former race car driver who owns a Mount Kisco, New York garage, where he and his friends tune performance cars. Struggling to make ends meet, he and his crew participate in street races after hours. One day, Dino Brewster, Tobey's former rival, arrives at his garage with an offer to complete the build of a rare Ford Shelby Mustang worked on by the late Carrol Shelby. Dino wants Tobey and his crew to complete the project in exchange for 25% of the car's estimated selling price of $2 million. Despite objections from the crew, Tobey agrees to the deal.

Upon completion of the project, the Shelby Mustang is put up for auction at a party. Tobey and Dino meet Julia, an Englishwoman who agrees to pay $3 million if the car can go over 230 mph, as Tobey claims. The next morning at a nearby track, Tobey gets the Mustang to reach 234 mph, prompting Julia to purchase it for $2.7 million. Later, Dino challenges Tobey and his partner Little Pete to race his uncle's three illegally imported Koenigsegg Ageras from his mansion to a bridge over I-684. If Tobey wins, he gets Dino's 75% of the Mustang deal; if he loses, he gives up his 25%. During the race, Dino tags Little Pete's car, sending it flipping down a ravine before bursting into flames. Dino disappears from the scene, and Tobey is sent to jail for involuntary manslaughter, as there is no evidence pointing to Dino's involvement.

Two years later, Tobey is released on parole and he sets out to avenge Little Pete's death. He is able to borrow the Shelby Mustang he had worked on from Julia. Tobey and Julia set to enter the De Leon, a winner-take-all race organized by local DJ Monarch; for this, they have to reach San Francisco before the race starts in two days. The Shelby Mustang causes an interstate chase with police and other racers, as Dino offers his rare Lamborghini Sesto Elemento to anyone who can stop Tobey from entering the race, which prompts a huge number of street racers trying to kill Tobey.
In Utah, the Shelby Mustang is forced off-road by a couple of trucks that surround it by a cliff, who are also for Dino's prize, but Maverick, a member of Tobey's crew, appears in a helicopter he stole from the National Guard and tows the Shelby Mustang mid-air to the Bonneville Salt Flats, where Tobey's crew awaits them. Maverick is arrested by the military for stealing the helicopter.

After a long drive Tobey and Julia manage to arrive in San Francisco to register for the race, but Julia is hospitalized after a truck driven by one of Dino's henchmen broadsides the Shelby Mustang. Meanwhile, Anita, Dino's girlfriend and Little Pete's sister, has become aware of Dino's plans. She searches his computer and discovers the Koenigsegg who driven by Dino killed Little Pete is stored in a local warehouse. Anita gives Tobey the location of the car, as well as her engagement ring from Dino and tells him to inform Dino that she is through with him for killing her brother. Tobey takes the Koenigsegg since the Mustang is totaled.

The next morning, Tobey surprised Dino by not only showing up in the Koenigsegg, but also by giving him Anita's ring. Following a grueling race where several cars eliminated, Tobey and Dino race side-by-side along the Pacific Coast Highway. Dino attempts to push Tobey off the road, but Tobey slams the brakes, causing Dino's car to crash and catch fire. Tobey sees the finish line, but turns around to pull Dino from the flames. After rescuing his adversary, Tobey does finish and win the race, but then both he and Dino are arrested by the California Highway Patrol. With the missing Koenigsegg found, as a proof of Little Pete's death, Dino is sent to jail. Tobey serves six months in prison for illegal street racing before he is once again released and reunites with Julia in a 2015 Ford Mustang. The film ends as the couple heads to Utah to the military prison where Maverick is getting released early for good behaviour.

TOP MOVIE - CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Two years after the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers works in Washington D.C. for the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. under director Nick Fury while adjusting to contemporary society. Rogers and Agent Natasha Romanoff are sent with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s counter-terrorism S.T.R.I.K.E. team, led by Agent Rumlow, to free hostages aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. vessel from Georges Batroc and his mercenaries. Mid-mission, Rogers discovers Romanoff has another agenda: to extract data from the ship's computers for Fury. Rogers returns to the Triskelion, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters, to confront Fury and is briefed about Project Insight: three Helicarriers linked to spy satellites, designed to preemptively eliminate threats. Unable to decrypt Romanoff's recovered data, Fury becomes suspicious about Insight.

On his way to rendezvous with Maria Hill, Fury is ambushed by assailants led by a mysterious assassin called the Winter Soldier. Fury escapes to Rogers's apartment, and warns Rogers that S.H.I.E.L.D. is compromised. After handing Rogers a flash drive containing data from the ship, Fury is gunned down by the Winter Soldier. Fury dies in surgery, and Hill recovers the body. The next day, senior S.H.I.E.L.D. official Alexander Pierce summons Rogers to the Triskelion. When Rogers withholds Fury's information, Pierce brands him a fugitive. Hunted by S.T.R.I.K.E., Rogers meets with Romanoff. Using data in the flash drive they discover a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. bunker in New Jersey, where they activate a supercomputer containing the preserved consciousness of Arnim Zola. Zola reveals that since S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded after World War II, HYDRA has secretly operated within its ranks, sowing global chaos in the hope that humanity would willingly surrender its freedom in exchange for security. The pair narrowly escape death when a S.H.I.E.L.D. missile destroys the bunker.

Rogers and Romanoff enlist the help of former USAF pararescueman Sam Wilson, whom Rogers befriended, and acquire his powered "Falcon" wingpack. Deducing S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell is a HYDRA mole, they force him to divulge that Zola developed a data-mining algorithm that can identify individuals who might become future threats to HYDRA's plans. The Insight Helicarriers will sweep the globe, using satellite-guided guns to eliminate these individuals. Rogers, Romanoff, and Wilson are ambushed by the Winter Soldier and Sitwell is thrown into oncoming traffic. During the fight, Rogers recognizes the Winter Soldier as Bucky Barnes, his friend who was captured and experimented upon during WWII. Hill manages to extract the trio to a safehouse where Fury, who had faked his death, is waiting with plans to sabotage the Helicarriers by replacing their controller chips.

After the World Security Council members arrive for the Helicarriers' launch, Rogers broadcasts HYDRA's plot to everyone at the Triskelion. Romanoff, disguised as one of the Council members, disarms Pierce. Fury arrives and forces Pierce to unlock S.H.I.E.L.D's database so that Romanoff can leak classified information, exposing HYDRA's actions. Following a struggle, Fury shoots Pierce dead. Meanwhile, Rogers and Wilson storm two Helicarriers and replace the controllers, but the Winter Soldier destroys Wilson's suit and fights Rogers on the third. Rogers fends him off and replaces the final chip, allowing Hill to take control and have the vessels destroy each other. Rogers refuses to fight the Winter Soldier in an attempt to reach his friend, but as the ship collides with the Triskelion, Rogers is thrown out into the Potomac River. The Winter Soldier rescues the unconscious Rogers before disappearing. With S.H.I.E.L.D. in disarray, Fury, under the cover of his apparent death, heads to Eastern Europe in pursuit of HYDRA's remaining cells as Romanoff appears before a Senate subcommittee. Rogers and Wilson decide to track the Winter Soldier while Rumlow, who was a double agent for HYDRA, is hospitalized following the Triskelion's destruction.

In a mid-credits scene, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, at a HYDRA lab, proclaims that the "age of miracles" has begun as scientists examine an energy-filled scepter1 and two prisoners: one with superhuman speed, the other with telekinetic powers. In a post-credits scene, the Winter Soldier visits a Bucky memorial at the Smithsonian Institution.
