STORY: A scientist who has lost the respect of his peers, colleagues and the whole scientific community in general, has the design for a theoretical time / inter - dimensional travel device. It's not until a beautiful college student convinces him to complete the device that he starts believing in himself again. Together with a "tour guide" of sorts, they tear open a portal between our world and the land of the lost and losing the device in the process.
This new world is a collision point between past, present and future with all kinds of creatures inhabiting it including dinosaurs and intelligent lizard people. They befriend an ape-like creature who assists them.
They meet a lizard creature who claims that one of his people wants to use the time travel device to take over earth and they must rediscover the location of the device.
The fun then starts as they meet a seemingly clever Tyrannosaurus Rex, strange giant mosquitos and save the earth from an evil genius.
REVIEW:
I'm already biased as a Will Farrell ( Stranger than Fiction, Blades of Glory ) fan so my take on the movie may be a little blurred. I enjoyed the humour and the journey into this fantastic new world they discover. For me I think the relationship between Farrell and the Tyrannosaurus was classic and comical. The movie is definitely a big budget one and the special effects are well done. The story however has its loopholes. I must admit though, this is not Farrell's best work but it does have its moments. The movie was re-cut several times to ease up on the R - rating it started with and I have to wonder if this movie might've been better before. Guess we'll just have to wait for the Directors Cut or Unrated Edition to come out.
SCORE:
I can't decide but I'll give it 5 and half popcorn out of 10
MOVIE TRAILER:

MOVIE BABE:
Anna Friel is definitely not lost at all
